What is GBT?

Guided Biofilm Therapy is a state-of-the-art treatment comprising several steps that is far superior to traditional scale and polish methods. Traditional methods have been shown to remove 50% of plaque from areas that are difficult to reach. GBT removes Biofilm (Plaque) and discolourations completely in a minimal invasive manner using an airflow system and water that is maintained at 40 degrees, providing a very comfortable experience for patients.

Dental Hygienist

We have a qualified Dental Hygienist on site, to ensure you have adequate gum health and also that clean and shiny feeling. Dental Hygienists maintain good bone structure and gum health which support your tooth strength. Appointments are important to care for the foundations of your teeth to the highest possible standard, to avoid tooth mobilty which may lead to tooth loss.

What is the dental hygienist's role in the practice?

Dental hygienists are mainly concerned with ‘preventive’ dental health and treating gum disease – showing you correct home care and helping you to keep your teeth and gums healthy. This includes professionally cleaning your teeth by removing plaque and tartar (usually called a ‘scale and polish’). However, perhaps their most important role is showing you the best way to keep your teeth free of plaque. Plaque is a sticky coating that forms constantly on your teeth. Hygienists also give advice about diet and about preventing tooth decay. The hygienist will work with your dental team to give you the care that is tailored to your needs.

This is offered on a Private basis.
